Valvular Heart Disease
The most common valve disease treated with catheter-based therapies is aortic stenosis. Aortic stenosis is narrowing of the valve that controls all the blood that comes out of the heart in order to go to the rest of the body. Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement is a procedure that allows the aortic valve to be replaced, through the skin without the need for open heart surgery.
